In a poll, over 23,000 people (11%) voted with the Homeowners Association!
DENVER (Nov. 26) - A homeowners association in southwestern Colorado has threatened to fine a resident $25 a day until she removes a Christmas wreath with a peace sign that some say is an anti-Iraq war protest or a symbol of Satan [emphasis added].

Quite amazing to a confirmed urban dweller like myself, that people are willing to live by draconian rules in the supposed interest of 'maintaining property values.' When I used to live in Orange County, CA, even renters had to sign a huge CCN&R document, one rule in which was how many minutes you could leave your garage door open.
The freedom of speech issue I would assume would trump any homeowner's rules, but then I am not a lawyer.
Not quite sure about your headline...11% in favor does not seem very high? That would mean the vast majority were opposed to the rule?

I'm amazed that TWO people think the peace symbol is a Satanic sign.

Well, if one reads the Bible (especially the Old Testament) peace does seem to be contrary to the will of Jehovah.

Hark! the herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King
Peace on earth and mercy mild,
God and sinners reconciled!"
The message of Christmas is Peace on Earth, Good will towards all, the Prince of Peace was born today.
