This Southern Corporate Headquarters From The 1950s Is Actually A New Hospital In New York

SURE, hospitals are about modern medicine and technology, and you even want them to be sterile - but you don't want them to look sterile and technocratic. The civic building is cold to the public on the outside, and probably discomforting for the sick and injured inside. I came across it on a walk in the Lower East Side last week. For me, the most disappointing thing about the Bloomberg Administration is its ideological bias for Modernism like this. Part of the reason it's disappointing is that Mayor Bloomberg himself has more catholic taste.
